1. I
knew about racial relation in U.S by the movie “Gone with the Wind” when I was
a child. This movie gives me a deep impression. The rich white southern planter
and poor black slaves. But in this time, I don’t really realize racial relation
because I haven’t touch with it. I got
further understand with racial relation was when I come U.S. Many people are
discussed about it. I am aware of racial
relation is a very big problem for U.S society before, and always had many
prejudice and discrimination between black people and white people. But now,
this situation is improved.
2. I
am interested in Amy Vanderbilt’s recall. “Children uncoated in prejudice and class-consciousness enjoy
people for what they are. As they mature, our society soon sets them right as
to their place in it. More often than not, they accept this place without
question, and thereby shut themselves off from warm human contact with many of
their fellows.” He said. We should know the bad human nature, such as prejudice
and discrimination is none exist. We accept something by our living
environment, both good and bad.
3. I
knew about racial relation early, but I didn’t know it’s so severe before. Since I saw the movie named “Django Unchained”
in last year, I just know how black people had suffered. But I know we never
image or feel the true injuries that those people had sustain. I just hope we
can make our society better and all estrangement and prejudice can fall away.
Pioyan, it is interesting that you mention "Gone with the Wind." I also saw it as a child, a long time ago! It made a deep impression on me, too. I didn't see "Django Unchained," but heard about it.
ReplyDeleteI also appreciated Amy Vanderbilt's remarks. it reminds me of a song from the musical "South Pacific" which starts"You've got to be taught to hate and fear..." and contains the same idea.
